Needs Statement

Connect with your primary care clinician colleagues for a three-day medical conference in Houston, Texas, led by world-class clinician-educators and developed in partnership with Course Chair Richard J. Hamill, MD, and Course Co-Chair Michael Fordis, MD, both of Baylor College of Medicine. Register for Pri-Med Southwest Primary Care CME/CE Conference & Expo in Houston to engage in important and evolving discussions impacting patient care—all while earning CME/CE credits and fulfilling state-mandated education requirements.

Educational Objectives

  • Use appropriate, non-judgmental language when discussion obesity with patients
  • Apply motivational interviewing techniques in the clinical setting to improve clinicians' and patients' comfort in discussions about obesity while eliciting information about patient's weight loss goals, motivations, and stage of change
  • Employ therapeutic communication strategies to develop patient-centered treatment plans for people with obesity
