Pancreas Symposium

How to Participate

Activity Information

Needs Statement

Clinicians require up‑to‑date, evidence‑based education on the diagnosis and management of pancreatic cancer to improve timely detection, treatment selection, and overall patient outcomes. Advances in diagnostic tools, surgical techniques, and multimodal treatment strategies—including neoadjuvant, adjuvant, systemic, and targeted therapies—continue to evolve rapidly, creating a critical need for clinicians to strengthen their knowledge and confidence in applying these approaches in practice. Additionally, optimal care for patients with suspected or confirmed pancreatic cancer depends on effective collaboration among multidisciplinary teams spanning oncology, surgery, gastroenterology, radiology, pathology, and supportive care. This course will address these gaps by equipping learners to identify current diagnostic modalities, describe evidence‑based and emerging treatment strategies, and understand the essential role of coordinated multidisciplinary care in improving treatment planning, care coordination, and patient outcomes.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be able to:

  • Identify and describe at least three current diagnostic tools and two evidence-based management strategies used in the evaluation and treatment of pancreatic cancer.
  • Explain two emerging systemic or targeted therapies for pancreatic cancer and their potential clinical impact on treatment selection and patient outcomes.
  • Summarize the role of multidisciplinary care teams in the diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with pancreatic cancer, and their impact on treatment optimization and patient outcomes.
