This Compassionate Conversations to Address Social Injustice and Equity Series session will take place on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Attendance will only be available virtually through Zoom.

Needs Statement
Physicians, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals need to be regularly updated on issues related to social justice and equity. The series will examine how the issues intersect with the delivery of healthcare. It will also complement patient care education and training by focusing on the social and cultural context in which patients live and are served.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:
- Identify health disparities and systemic barriers of oppression specific to transgender and non-binary gender populations.
- Apply their knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, affirming patient care to transgender and non-binary gender populations.
- Develop strategies for advocacy and upstander behaviors to eliminate individual or systemic barriers within communities and the healthcare system experienced by transgender and non-binary gender populations.
