This Compassionate Conversations to Address Social Injustice and Equity Series session will take place on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. and has been approved for CME, Ethics, and Social Work credit. Attendance will only be available virtually through Zoom.

Needs Statement

Physicians, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals need to be regularly updated on issues related to social justice and equity. The series will examine how the issues intersect with the delivery of healthcare. It will also complement patient care education and training by focusing on the social and cultural context in which patients live and are served.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:

  • Describe the principles of gender healthcare.
  • List at least two barriers to healthcare experienced by the transgender community.
  • Identify ways to improve the health of transgender people in the community.
