Needs Statement
The goal of this clinical symposium is to promote and facilitate the use of evidence-based decision making, engage in continuous quality improvement and learning, and strive for excellence in academic research across a broad range of primary care and specialty care topics. Nationally renowned thought leaders and academic experts will share current best practices and discuss clinical developments that enhance the clinical practice for our Physician Enterprise clinician teams across our ministry.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant(s) will be able to:
- Formulate a strategy to collaborate with clinical leaders from Clinical Institutes including Oncology, Hospitalist Medicine, Surgical Care, Women and Infants, and across various CommonSpirit Physician Enterprise Divisions, to improving clinical care and patient outcomes
- Compare and contrast the proven strategies for mitigating burnout and utilizing solution-based processes to enhance professional fulfillment and well-being of physicians & advance practice providers at the individual, leadership, and system levels
- Illustrate the expertise to manage Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) by utilizing the latest evidence-based treatment algorithms and developing a comprehensive care plan including strategies for weight management
- Identify the best practices for primary prevention based on the recommendations of United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) in areas including cancer screening and cardiovascular disease risk mitigation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Baylor College of Medicine and CommonSpirit Health.
