In this installment of the Spotlight Series, Dr. Ruchi Gaba discusses clinical findings and diagnostic techniques involved in identifying and managing patients with hyperthyroidism. She reviews the pathophysiology, signs, and symptoms of hyperthyroidism, with emphasis on common related diseases, such as Graves Disease. Additionally, she describes the current guidelines in imaging and laboratory tests when diagnosing hyperthyroidism.

  • Recognize the clinical manifestations of hyperthyroidism- especially Graves’s disease that causes orbitopathy and dermatopathy.
  • Summarize how diagnostic tests are used to identify the cause of hyperthyroidism.
