CA-2 Residents Poster Presentations (June 14, 2023)

Needs Statement

Anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, certified anesthesiology assistants, anesthesiology fellows and residents, and student registered nurse anesthetists need to receive regular updates on new advances in anesthesiology research and technologies. Expert presentations on cutting-edge anesthesiology topics will be used as an impetus for discussion. The aim of the series is to expand clinical knowledge, improve competence, enhance the quality of anesthesiology care, and improve patient outcomes.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:

• Describe the risk factors for necrotizing enterocolitis.
• Recognize physiological changes that occur during pregnancy.
• Recognize the various group classifications of pulmonary hypertension as stated by the World Health Organization.
• Recall that Bleomycin is associated with pulmonary toxicity.
• Develop and implement strategies to incorporate the Emergency Airway Algorithm in a timely manner.
• Recognize the clinical presentation and management of Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy.
• Review Factor XIII deficiency, a disorder of hemostasis and its importance in the coagulation cascade.
• Discuss the consequences of untreated congenital heart disease in the peripartum period.

It is up to participants to determine whether the relationships influence the activity faculty with regard to exposition or conclusions.
