CME Requirements
Every two years, the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners requires 40 credit hours of Category 1 CME sponsored by the AMA, AOA, or another organization approved by the board (30 credits must be in your specialty; 10 credits may be non-specialty).
South Carolina Topics Requirements
Of the 40 required hours:
At least 30 hours must be related to the physician’s area of practice.
At least 2 hours AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ in Safe Prescribing and Monitoring of Controlled Substances.
