CME Requirements
The New Mexico Medical Board requires 75 AOA 1-A credits or 75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ every 3 years.
Deadline: June 30th (3 years).
New Mexico Topics Requirements
Physicians in New Mexico must fulfill the following state-specific CME requirements:
Medical Practice Act Review: 1 hour covering the New Mexico Medical Practice Act and relevant board regulations.
Pain Management (For DEA Registrants): At least 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ in Pain Management, covering:
Pharmacology and risks of controlled substances
Issues related to abuse, addiction, and diversion
State and federal regulations on prescribing controlled substances
Pain management strategies
Optional review of Rule 16.10.14 NMAC (courses must be approved by the New Mexico Medical Board)
