CME Requirements
The Nebraska Board of Medicine and Surgery requires 50 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ every two years.
Up to 24 hours accumulated beyond the 50 required hours may be carried over to the next renewal cycle.
Nebraska Topics Requirements
Nebraska physicians must complete 3 CME credits per year on prescribing opioids, which may cover topics such as opioid prescribing, addiction risk factors, and emergency opioid situations.
Additionally, 0.5 of the 3 required credits must focus on the Nebraska Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP). This requirement can be fulfilled by watching the PDMP training video on the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services website and completing the acknowledgment form and prescriber CME assessment.
