CME Requirements
The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine requires 100 CME and 50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (AOA 1-A) every two years.
Massachusetts Topics Requirements
Massachusetts physicians must complete the following state-specific CME credits:
10 credits in Risk Management.
3 credits in Pain Management (for those prescribing controlled substances).
2 credits in Board’s Regulations (243 CMR 1.00-5.00).
2 credits in Implicit Bias in Health Care
2 credits in End-of-Life Care.
3 credits in Electronic Health Records (EHR) Proficiency
≥ 2 credits in Proper Use of Marijuana (for physicians certifying medical marijuana use)
One-Time Requirements:
Training on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias.
Training on Domestic and Sexual Violence.
Training on Reporting Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect.
Training on Electronic Health Record (EHR) Proficiency.
