CME Requirements
The Minnesota Board of Medical Practice requires physicians to complete 75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ every three years to maintain licensure.
Minnesota Topics Requirements
Physicians authorized to prescribe controlled substances must complete at least 2 CME credits in Best Practices for Prescribing Opioids and Controlled Substances, covering:
Opioid prescribing best practices.
Non-pharmacological and implantable device alternatives for pain treatment and management.
Physicians participating in the Minnesota DHS Opioid Prescribing Improvement Program (OPIP) are exempt from this requirement.
