CME Requirements
Under Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure regulation 201 KAR 9:310, all physicians with an active Kentucky medical or osteopathic license must complete 60 CME hours every three years, including:
30 hours in AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from an accredited organization.
The remaining hours can be in Category I or II.
Kentucky Topics Requirements
Controlled Substances: Physicians who prescribe or dispense controlled substances must complete ≥ 4.5 CME credits in KASPER, Pain Management, Addiction Disorders, or a combination of these topics.
Primary Care Physicians (including general/family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, OB/GYN, and preventive medicine/public health) must complete 3 CME credits in Domestic Violence within three years of licensure (one-time requirement).
Pediatricians, Radiologists, Family Practitioners, and Emergency/Urgent Care Physicians must also complete 3 CME credits in Domestic Violence within three years of licensure (one-time requirement).
