Professional Statement
I am committed to improving medical education, with a focus on curriculum development and promoting accurate feedback to our trainees in order to facilitate their professional growth. While I was previously involved in graduate medical education as an Associate Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, I have now transitioned to the Assistant Dean of Clinical Curriculum for undergraduate medical education; in that role, I work with clinical course directors to optimize clinical education for undergraduate medical trainees, with a focus on continuous quality improvement with incorporation of innovation and active learning. Additionally, I have a strong personal and professional interest in Physician Wellness, and am involved in several initiatives at local, regional and national levels aimed to reduce burnout and increase physicians' sense of meaning in the workplace. Through my clinical Infectious Diseases practices in the Faculty Group Practice and Thomas Street Health Center, I aim to provide high quality care to patients with general Infectious Diseases or HIV-related conditions or risk factors. Fundamentally, I strive to be a strong clinician for my patients, an accessible teacher and mentor for trainees, and an effective leader and scholar in medical education.
