Needs Statement
Pediatric Emergency Medicine faculty, fellows, and residents who are involved in the care of patients need to be regularly updated with the recent advances and guidelines in the field of care of the acutely ill and injured child, toxicology, social determinants of health, quality improvement, communication skills, and advocacy. The conference aims to increase knowledge of the learners in these topic areas, and to implement the advances and guidelines in clinical practice to enhance the quality of patient care and outcomes
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Identify pediatric patients who present symptoms of chest pain, palpitation, and syncope in the emergency department.
- Discuss improvements to pediatric emergency medicine patient care guidelines and communication.
- Demonstrate greater understanding of the treatment methods and techniques required for pediatric cardiac emergencies.
