Needs Statement

OB/GYN faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students need to be regularly updated on the latest scientific advances and translational efforts, as well as the unique ethical challenges in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The series aims to increase knowledge and skills of the learners in these topic areas in order to enhance the quality of care, increase patient safety, and improve patient outcomes.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Identify different ethical considerations in obstetrics and gynecology, specifically within the emerging field of fetal surgery, and the unique challenges inherent in these cases.
  • Evaluate patients for potential antepartum and postpartum complications and implement different treatment modalities when identified.
  • Apply novel surgical techniques in difficult laparoscopic gynecologic cases to improve patient outcomes.
  • Analyze methods to modify hospital systems to enhance patient safety.
