In this presentation, Dr. Harry Papaconstantinou discusses his work in improving communication between surgical team members at his institution. He uses data on communication styles, conflict resolution strategies, and team dynamics to encourage more effective communication with the goal of reducing the occurrence of adverse or "never" events in the surgical department.

Novel technologies and procedures will be examined as means to improve the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions requiring surgical intervention. The series aims to expand the knowledge of learners, enhance surgical skills, increase surgical efficiency, disseminate surgical best practices, and improve surgical outcomes.
