Needs Statement

Physiatrists, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals who evaluate and treat rehabilitation populations need to be regularly updated with evidence-based clinical practices and research advances for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients receiving rehabilitation services. The series aims to increase knowledge of the learners in these topics, and to implement the advances and guidelines in clinical practice to enhance the quality of patient care and outcomes while using resources efficiently.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:

  • Define physical frailty.
  • Recognize promises of wearables to determine functional capacity in older adults.
  • Describe promises of wearables to promote aging in place.
