In this Department of Medicine Clinical Pathological Conference (CPC), Internal Medicine Chief Residents Josh Hirsch, Chris Inchaustegui, Komal Muradali, Ruchit Rana, and Divya Verma serve as the case discussants. Dr. Alec Rezigh presents the case of a 59-year-old man seeking emergency medical care for chest pain with a recent relevant history of medical assessment for nausea, vomiting, bloating, and epigastric pain.

Needs Statement
Faculty and trainees within the Department of Medicine who are involved in the care of patients need to be regularly updated with the recent advances and guidelines in the fields of internal medicine and quality improvement to increase clinical knowledge, and to implement the advances and guidelines in clinical practice to enhance the quality of patient care and outcomes.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Identify pertinent positive and negative test results in patients with a complex clinical presentation.
- Create a framework to evaluate a patient with chest pain.
- Discuss the medical reasoning and decision-making skills required to assess a patient with chest pain.
