SLICERDICER - Self-Service Data Analytic Training/Education

Needs Statement

Epic SlicerDicer is a Self-Service Data Analytics Tool and has been implemented at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). SlicerDicer includes powerful data exploration abilities for clinical, access, research, and revenue subject areas. Users can investigate a topic of choice, refine his or her searches, examine trends, drill down to linelevel details, and jump to related records to follow up. The purpose of this activity is to increase efficiency and effectiveness of utilizing SlicerDicer to improve the overall experience of initiating research topic of interest and analyzing data.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

• Utilize SlicerDicer systems and database to generate predictive, prescriptive data and research cohorts
• Improve core datasets with derived and additional data to gain insight
• Identify strategies from SlicerDicer workshops and SlicerDicer Self-Service Data Analytics Tool to refine searches, examine trends, drill down to line-level details quickly to find related records

Baylor College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. BCM is committed to sponsoring CE activities that are scientifically based, accurate, current, and objectively presented.

BCM does not view the existence of financial relationships with commercial interests as implying bias or decreasing the value of a presentation. It is up to participants to determine whether the relationships influence the activity faculty with regard to exposition or conclusions. If at any time during this activity you feel that there has been commercial/promotional bias, notify the Activity Director or Activity Coordinator. Please answer the questions about balance and objectivity in the activity evaluation candidly.
