Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center Breast Cancer Symposium
How to Participate
Activity Information
Needs Statement
The landscape of breast cancer treatment is rapidly evolving with the introduction of novel therapeutics, personalized care models, and innovative surgical and radiation techniques. However, many community-based practitioners face challenges in staying current with these advancements, leading to inconsistent adoption of evidence-based practices. There is a critical need for education on new drug approvals, surgical and axillary management strategies, radiation de-escalation, and emerging therapies such as CAR-T cells. Additionally, the integration of genetic risk assessments into preventive care remains limited. This symposium aims to bridge these gaps by equipping healthcare providers with the latest multidisciplinary knowledge to enhance patient outcomes through individualized, up-to-date breast cancer care.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of the conference, participants should be able to:
- Review the latest updates from ASCO 2024 in the management of breast cancer.
- Discuss advanced surgical techniques in breast cancer and axilla management.
- Compare newer radiation modalities for breast cancer.
- Evaluate caveats in breast cancer imaging.
- Outline genetic screening strategies for primary prevention in high-risk patients.
