Pushing Boundaries: From Continuous Dynamic Mapping to Live Fiber Tract Visualization

Needs Statement

Physicians, residents, fellows, and medical students need to receive regular updates on advances in neurosurgery to manage patients with neurological disorders. Emerging discoveries in neurosurgical research and clinical practice impact patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, and practice patterns. The series will address the latest evidence-based research and best practice recommendations and provide practical examples learners need to assess and integrate medical knowledge into clinical decision-making.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of the session, the participants should be able to:

• Discuss the value of continuous dynamic mapping for gross-total resection, safety and for the surgeon.
• Describe the evidence that shows the benefit of surgery for recurrent glioblastoma.
• Summarize when less is more and the follow-up scanning for chronic subdurals.
